Team India won the T20 World Cup 2024 title by defeating South Africa in Barbados. Virat Kohli batted brilliantly in the final and scored 76 runs in 59 balls. He was adjudged the Player of the Match for his innings. However, before the final, he was seen struggling with the bat throughout the tournament.

Before the final, Kohli had scored only 75 runs at an average of 10.71, but when the team needed him against South Africa, Kohli gave his best performance. Meanwhile, now Kohli has revealed that he was not confident about performing in the final of the T20 World Cup.

Know what Dravid said to Kohli?

“I will always remember this day because I was not able to contribute the way I wanted to during the entire tournament. I also told Rahul bhai that I have not done justice to myself and the team till now,” Kohli said while meeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Thursday morning.

Virat further said, “Then he told me that when the situation comes, I am sure you will come into form. So this conversation happened between us and when we went to play, I told Rohit, I was not so confident that I would be able to bat the way I wanted to. So when we went to play, I got three fours in the first 4 balls, then I went and told him, what kind of game is this? One day it seems that not a single run will be scored and then a day comes and everything starts happening.”

The former Indian captain said, “When we lost wickets, I surrendered myself to the situation and focused on what the team needed from me. I was kept in that zone, but I felt tied up in that moment. Later, I realised that what has to happen will happen.”

Let us tell you that after India became the T20 World Cup champion, Virat Kohli said goodbye to T20I international and talked about giving a chance to the next generation.
