Chennai Super Kings will face Rajasthan Royals in the 61st match of IPL 2024. This match will be played at CSK’s home ground MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chepauk. Fans believe that this could be Dhoni’s last match on the Chennai ground. Actually, with CSK’s defeat in the last match, their playoff calculations have gone a little awry. Now if the team wants to qualify for the playoffs, it will have to win both the remaining matches.

If CSK team loses even one match from here then their hopes of reaching the playoffs will be dashed. In such a situation, if CSK fails to reach the playoffs, then this could be Dhoni’s last match in Chennai. In fact, former CSK captain MS Dhoni had expressed a wish a few years ago that he wanted to play his last IPL match in front of CSK fans on the Chennai ground.

If he does not do this then it will be injustice to the fans. Many people believe that this could be MS Dhoni’s last IPL season. In such a situation, today’s match could be MS Dhoni’s last match in Chepauk.

Chennai Super Kings at fourth place in the points table

Let us tell you that, ipl 2024 Chennai Super Kings is currently at fourth position in the points table after winning 6 out of 12 matches. CSK has a chance to reach maximum 16 points, if the team loses even one of the next two matches, then they will be able to reach only 14 points, in such a situation the rope of reaching the playoffs will not be in their hands. After this they will have to depend on the results of other teams.

After this, Chennai Super Kings have to play the last match of the season against Royal Challengers Bangalore. This match will be played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On the other hand, if Chennai Super Kings manages to qualify for the playoffs, then fans can get a glimpse of Dhoni at MA Chidambaram Stadium not once but twice.

In this test match, India’s first innings was reduced to just 46 runs. Dinesh Karthik and Gautam Gambhir (Image Credit- Twitter In the absence of Shubman Gill, India had to make some changes in its batting order in the ongoing first Test against New Zealand at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. In the match, it was decided to send experienced batsman Virat Kohli at number 3 and Sarfaraz Khan, who replaced Gill, at number 4. However, this strategy of captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Gautam Gambhir could not show anything special. Kohli was out without scoring any runs in 9 balls in the first innings of the Bengaluru Test match. On the other hand, former wicketkeeper batsman and Dinesh Karthik, who played with Kohli in RCB, has given a big statement regarding this decision of the Indian management. Dinesh Karthik gave a big statement Let us tell you that Dinesh Karthik was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz – I am not defending Virat Kohli, he has the temperament and technique like some of the great batsmen who have played so far. If I make any changes it is because I am confident that that player will perform well there, not because I want to save Virat Kohli. He plays at number 4 in Tests. He opens 3 times in every ODI and T20 match. Now you can say the ball is different, it is not rotating as much, 100 per cent, where is the best position for Virat Kohli in Test cricket, he is just number four. Virat Kohli is also commendable. He could have easily said, no, let me bat at number four, because you can keep KL Rahul or Sarfaraz Khan at number three. The coach would have said, OK, I will manage that conversation. The fact that he went to bat at number 3 shows his (serious) mindset.
