WPL 2024, BAN-W vs GUJ-W: The fifth match of the Women’s Premier League 2024 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Smriti Mandhana won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Gujarat Giants team could score only 107 runs at the loss of 7 wickets.

Captain Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol came to open for Gujarat Giants. The team suffered its first blow in the third over when Beth Mooney was out to Renuka Singh after scoring 8 runs. No good partnership was seen forming between any of the batsmen of Gujarat Giants. Dayalan Hemlata played an unbeaten inning of 31 runs in 25 balls. Sophie Molineau took the maximum of 3 wickets for 25 runs in 4 overs. Renuka Singh took 2 wickets and Georgia Wehram took 1 wicket.

Smriti Mandhana played a brilliant innings

Smriti Mandhana gave a great start to Royal Challengers Bangalore while chasing the target against Gujarat Giants. The team suffered its first blow in the fourth over, when Sophie Devine lost her wicket against Ashley Gordner after scoring 6 runs. Captain Smriti Mandhana played an inning of 43 runs in 27 balls with the help of 8 fours and 1 six.
