Meanwhile, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra was recently invited to Raj Shamani’s Figuring Out podcast. Chopra talked on various topics related to cricket during this time. During this, he told how any player can make a career in cricket. However, the most interesting topic he discussed on the show was how much a commentator earns by commentating in a match.

Responding to this, Aakash Chopra said that commentators are paid on a per match basis or on a separate basis. He said that commentators are generally paid on a per match basis. Cricketer-turned-commentator Chopra also said that the annual contracts that broadcast agencies agree with commentators are mostly allocated on a proportionate basis.
He was then asked how much a new junior commentator gets paid compared to someone with a lot of experience. Answering this, Chopra clearly revealed that he has never asked any commentator about their income.
According to Chopra’s estimation based on his experience, he revealed that while junior commentators can earn anywhere between ₹35,000 to ₹40,000 per day, a senior commentator can earn ₹6-10 crores a year. They get 10 lakhs for a day of commentary.
