According to Times of India, a fan was successfully robbed by a fake agency while trying to buy a ticket. And he was defrauded of three lakh rupees.
What is the whole matter?
A 28-year-old man named Samarth has claimed fraud on IPL tickets. Samarth is a resident of Sudhama Nagar, Bengaluru. On Instagram, Samarth clicked on an ad to buy tickets for the RCB vs CSK match. The fraudster identified himself as Padma Singh Vijay Kumar and claimed to be an official employee of IPL. To gain Samarth’s trust he also sent his number and Aadhaar card. Under such circumstances, Samarth paid a total of Rs 7,900 to Padma Sinha to buy 3 tickets worth Rs 2,300 each.
Despite this, when Samarth did not get the e-ticket, Padma Sinha demanded Rs 67 thousand from him. When Samarth asked why he was asking for so much money, the man claiming to be an official employee of IPL started making excuses. There was such a demand for the ticket that Samarth paid for it separately and sent a total of three lakh rupees to the fraudster. Despite all this he did not get the ticket.
After feeling cheated, Samarth lodged a complaint with the cyber crime police. Police have registered a case under section 420 of IPC. Let us tell you that tickets for the matches to be held at M Chinnaswamy Stadium are available only on the official website and counters of RCB. If anyone is selling you tickets like this, then beware of him.
