Afghanistan has to play a three-match ODI series against South Africa. The Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced its team for this ODI series today i.e. on 12 September. Ibrahim Zadran will not be seen playing for the Afghanistan team in this three-match ODI series against South Africa.

Let us tell you, Ibrahim Zadran is currently injured and due to this he has not been included in the Afghanistan team for the upcoming ODI series. Apart from this, Mujeeb Ur Rahman has also not got a place in the team. However, excellent player Darwish Rasooli has returned to the Afghanistan team. Darwish Rasooli has played 7 T20 matches for Afghanistan in which he has scored 51 runs.

Not only this, Abdul Malik, who has played two Tests for Afghanistan, has also returned to the team. Abdul Malik has scored only 22 runs in four innings of two Tests. The best thing for Afghanistan is that Rashid Khan has also returned in the upcoming ODI series. Rashid Khan could not participate in the last ODI series against Ireland but he will be seen giving a brilliant performance against South Africa.

ACB chief selector Ahmad Shah Sulimankhil said, ‘Mujib ur Rahman is still not fully recovered from his injury and that is why he has not been included in the ODI series against South Africa. Ibrahim Zadran will also miss the ODI series against South Africa due to injury. However, Abdul Malik and Darwish Rasooli have returned to the team. Allah Muhammad Ghazanfar is also a talented player and has performed very well in domestic cricket. He will cover Mujeeb in this series.’

Afghanistan Cricket Board CEO Naseeb Khan said, ‘It is a great achievement for Afghanistan cricket in the history of cricket that we are hosting South Africa for the first time. This team is really top quality and it will be really amazing to play an ODI series against them. In the last two to three years, our performance has been stellar in ICC events and now we would like to perform well in bilateral series as well.’
