Afghanistan Cricket Board has announced its squad today i.e. on 6th January for the three-match T20 series against India starting from 11th January. He has announced a 19-member team.

Ibrahim Zadran has been appointed the captain of the Afghanistan team in the T20 series against India. Let us tell you, Ibrahim Zadran recently captained the Afghanistan team in the three-match T20 series against UAE and he played an important role in helping his team win this series. Afghanistan won the series against UAE 2–1.

ACB Chairman Mirwais Ashraf said in the statement, ‘We are very excited for our first three-match T20 series tour against India. The Indian team is the top ranked team in the world and now it will be fun to see how Afghanistan performs against them in the T20 series.

We have full hope that Afghanistan is no longer an underdog and the team has performed very well in recent times.

It is difficult for Afghanistan’s regular captain Rashid Khan to play in the T20 series against India.

Afghanistan’s regular T20 captain Rashid Khan is a part of this squad but it seems very difficult for him to play in the T20 series. This is because he has recently undergone back surgery and that is why he will hardly be seen playing in the upcoming series.

ACB said in its statement, ‘Rashid Khan, who is the regular T20 captain of Afghanistan, has been included in the team but due to not fully recovering from the back injury, he will not be seen playing in the upcoming series. ‘

Here is the Afghanistan team:

Ibrahim Zadran (captain), Rehmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Ikram Alikhil (wk), Hazratullah Zazai, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Karim Janat, Azmaullah Umarzai, Sharafuddin Ashraf, Mujeeb ur Rehman, Fazalhaq Farooqui, Farid Ahmed, Naveen Ul Haq, Noor Ahmed, Mohammad Saleem, Qais Ahmed, Gulbadin Naib and Rashid Khan.
