Afghanistan will host its only Test match against New Zealand this year in Noida. This was confirmed by the Afghanistan Cricket Board today i.e. on 27th July. Let us tell you, this is the first Test match between these two teams.

Talking about Afghanistan, they have played 9 Test matches so far. The team played its first match in 2018. Afghanistan has won three out of 9 Test matches. They have won Test matches against Ireland, Bangladesh and Zimbabwe.

Before the Test match, the New Zealand team will arrive in Noida on September 5 for a 3-day camp. This Test match is starting on September 9. Under an agreement with the Board of Control for Cricket in India, the Afghanistan Cricket Board has hosted matches in Noida before.

Afghanistan Cricket Board President Mirwais Ashraf said, ‘We are very excited that for the first time in the history of cricket we are playing a Test match against the New Zealand team. All the players of our team are very excited and they are also eagerly waiting for this one-off Test. The performance of the New Zealand team has always been very good in all formats and we are confident that very soon we will also sign a limited over series agreement with New Zealand Cricket.’
