New Zealand won the test series in India for the first time.
The visiting team won the second match of the three-match Test series between India and New Zealand. In this match, the Kiwi team won the series by defeating India by 113 runs. This victory was historic for New Zealand in many ways because never before has the New Zealand team been able to win a Test match in India.
Test matches have been being played between the two for 69 years but only now has the Kiwi team won a Test match on Indian soil. The Kiwi team set a target of 359 runs on the third day of the Pune Test, in response to which India’s second innings was reduced to 245 runs in 60.2 overs. New Zealand won the first test held in Bengaluru by 8 wickets.
India lost test series at home after 4331 days
Let us tell you that with this defeat, Team India’s home pride has been shattered. India has lost the Test series at home after 12 years. India had earlier faced defeat in the Test series at the hands of England in 2012. England then won the four-match series 2–1. Since then, India won 18 consecutive series at home and their winning streak at home ended today after 4331 days.
Let us tell you that the first Test between India and New Zealand was played in 1955. India’s overall record against the Kiwi team is excellent. Both have played 64 tests between themselves so far, in which India has won 22. During this period, New Zealand won 15 Tests and ended in 28 draws. However, in the current series, Rohit and company have not been able to perform as per expectations.
