India’s tour will begin with the T20 series starting on 27 July, after which the three-match ODI series will begin between India and Sri Lanka from 2 August.

On the other hand, fast bowler Harshit Rana has got a place in the Indian cricket team for the first time for the ODI series of the Sri Lanka tour. So after getting the first call-up from Team India, Rana has made a big statement about the new head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir.

It is worth noting that Harshit represents Delhi in domestic cricket, from where Gambhir also started his cricket career. Apart from this, when Gambhir was the mentor of the KKR team during the 2024 IPL season, Harshit Rana was also included in that team, who played an important role in helping the team win its third IPL title. Rana took 19 wickets in 13 matches played for KKR in the last season of IPL.

Let us tell you that on being selected for the first time in Team India, Harshit Rana said in an interview to PTI- If I name three people in my beautiful cricket journey to whom I am indebted, then they are my father for my efforts, my personal coach Amit Bhandari Sir and above all others, Gauti Bhaiya (Gautam Gambhir). Gauti Bhaiya’s presence has played an important role in changing the mindset of my game.

Rana further said- At the elite level, you need skill, but more than skill you need heart to handle pressure. Gauti bhaiya always used to tell me mere ko tere pe bharosa hai, tu match jeet ke aayega.
