The first Test between India and England has started at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. By the end of play on the first day of the first Test, host India had scored 119 runs losing 1 wicket in 23 overs. Talking about England, they scored 246 runs after losing all the wickets in their first innings.

For India, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each while Jasprit Bumrah and Axar Patel took two wickets each.

Captain Rohit Sharma once again failed to score big and was out on 24 runs. Shubman Gill has also scored 14* runs so far.
