The International Cricket Council (ICC) has added another cricket legend to its star-studded ambassador lineup for the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, which will be hosted by the West Indies and the USA. Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi has now been named as the T20 World Cup 2024 ambassador by the ICC.
Before Afridi, Yuvraj Singh’s name was also announced. Along with Yuvi, Chris Gayle and Usain Bolt are also ambassadors of this T20 World Cup. Shahid Afridi has performed brilliantly for Pakistan. He was part of Pakistan’s team during the T20 World Cup 2007.

After becoming the ambassador of the tournament, Afridi said, “The T20 World Cup is very close to my heart. I became the ‘Player of the Tournament’ in the first edition and then won the title in 2009. All these are memorable moments of my career. I am very excited about the match between India and Pakistan on June 9. I am eagerly waiting for this match.”
He further added, “The T20 World Cup has grown from strength to strength in recent years and I am thrilled to be a part of this edition, where we will see more teams, more matches and even more drama than ever before. I am particularly excited to watch the India vs Pakistan match on June 9. Pakistan won the title in 2009 by defeating Sri Lanka at Lord’s Cricket Ground. Afridi also won the Player of the Match award for his brilliant performance.
