Team India has returned to the field after about one and a half months. Practice has started for the upcoming Test and T20 series with Bangladesh. After this series, India will play a Test series with New Zealand and then the prestigious Border-Gavaskar Trophy will be played against Australia.

The Indian team is all set to tour Australia for the Border Gavaskar Trophy. This series is going to be very important for both the countries as both the teams can play the final of the World Test Championship in 2025. However, before the series, opener Travis Head has praised Shubman Gill a lot.

Shubman Gill is a young batsman of Team India in all three formats. So far he has played many memorable innings for India. Now Travis Head has also praised Shubman Gill’s talent and said that he is the most skilled batsman against spin.

Speaking to Star Sports, he said, “Shubman Gill is a superstar. He has played some great innings. His batting against spin is excellent. He is a great player.”

Shubman Gill is part of the Bangladesh series

The Indian team is ready to host a 2-Test series against Bangladesh on home soil from September 19. Gill has also managed to make it to the Indian team’s squad for the first match. After the Test series, a 3-match T20 series will be played between India and Bangladesh from October 6.

However, Shubman Gill will not play in this series. A BCCI source told PTI that he will be given rest to deal with the workload. Gill led the Indian team in the 5-match T20 series played against Zimbabwe. Under his captaincy, India won this series 4-1.

Shubman Gill has played 25 Test matches for India so far and has scored 1492 runs at an average of 35.52. Apart from this, Gill has scored 2328 runs in 47 ODIs at an average of 58.20. At the same time, in 21 T20 matches, he has scored 578 runs at an average of 30.42.
