Ajit Agarkar will be in Australia during BGT

According to the report of Times of India, the selectors and coaches want to know from the senior players about their future plans regarding their career. Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin are all aged 35 or older. Of these, Ashwin has been playing Test cricket continuously for many years. Now these players will have to tell how they are seeing their career going forward.

The BCCI source said, “Both Agarkar and Gambhir know that such a poor performance in India will lead to widespread criticism, which is justified. Since it is a long tour, both can sit together and discuss how things can be taken forward after the tour. It will take at least one and a half years for both of them to build a strong backup team. This is where both have to be on the same page about the process.”

India has to play some matches of the World Test Championship and big tournaments like Champions Trophy in the coming days. India will not have much time for this and in this they will try their best to retain their core team. However, after this they are planning to make big changes in the team which especially includes the T20 format.
