Amay Khurasiya, a former Indian cricketer and who played domestic cricket for Madhya Pradesh, has been appointed as the new head coach of the Kerala cricket team ahead of the upcoming Ranji Trophy season.

Amey took up coaching after his retirement from cricket, and spent 10 years at the Indore-based cricket academy of the Madhya Pradesh Cricket Association (MPCA) before becoming the head coach of the Kerala team. Here he groomed Indian players Avesh Khan and Venkatesh Iyer.

However, earlier there was news that former Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait could become the head coach of the Kerala team, but finally Amay Khurasia has been appointed to this post.

On the other hand, after being appointed the coach of the Kerala cricket team by the Kerala Cricket Association, the 52-year-old former cricketer was quoted by Times of India as saying – I am very happy to serve Kerala cricket.

So if we give you information about the cricket career of the former cricketer, he has played 12 ODI matches for the Indian team. During this period he scored 149 runs. He also played an inning of 57 runs once in ODI, which is his only half century in this format. Apart from this, he was also a part of the Indian cricket team in the 1999 World Cup, but he did not get a chance to play the match.

However, Amey, who played only 12 ODI matches for India, performed brilliantly for that time in domestic cricket. Amey has scored 7304 runs in 119 first class matches, while in 122 List A matches he has scored 3768 runs with the help of 4 centuries.
