This was Ben Stokes’ first match in The Hundred in three years. The England Test captain had a very poor outing as he got out on a golden duck. Talking about the match, Northern Superchargers won the toss and decided to bat first. However, they did not have a good start and opener Matthew Short was dismissed by Tim Southee on the sixth ball of the match.
Nicholas Pooran came in to bat at number three; he hit a four and a six, but Adam Milne ended his innings soon. Saurabh again took the ball and put the Northern Superchargers on the backfoot by dismissing Ben Stokes.
