West Indies’ tour of Australia 2024, AUS vs WI: Australia has won the first Test match against West Indies by 10 wickets at Adelaide Oval and the host team achieved this victory today, January 19, before lunch on the third day of the game.

However, before this huge victory of the Australia cricket team, a heart-wrenching incident came to light, where the opening batsman Usman Khawaja (usman khawaja) West Indies debutant fast bowler Shamar Joseph (Shamarh Joseph) became a terrible victim of the bouncer.

During the morning session on the third day of the first Test, West Indies’ Shamarh Joseph bowled a bouncer in the seventh over which hit Usman Khawaja on the helmet while the Australian opener was trying to avoid the delivery.

After which all the players deployed on the field of Adelaide Oval got scared, and a doctor of the Australia cricket team immediately ran on the field, because Usman Khawaja was clearly seen in pain. The doctor examined the impact of the bouncer on Khawaja’s upper jaw and cheekbone area. Australia’s veteran opening batsman left the field holding his left side of his cheekbone after spitting blood.

Marnus Labuschagne scored the match-winning runs after Khawaja retired hurt, as Australia needed only 26 runs to win, which they achieved in the seventh over. With this victory, the Australian cricket team has taken a 1-0 lead in the two-match Test series against the West Indies, and the second and last match of this series will be played at Gabba from January 25.

As far as Usman Khawaja is concerned, it remains to be seen whether he recovers in time for the second Test to be played at Gabba or not. But if reports are to be believed, Khawaja may miss the second Test against West Indies.
