West Indies’ tour of Australia 2024, AUS vs WI: Australia and West Indies are currently facing each other in the second and last match of the two-match Test series at the Gabba in Brisbane. Kevin Sinclair from Guyana (Kevin Sinclair) made his Test debut for the West Indies in the second Test against Australia at the Gabba.

Former West Indies legend Carl Hooper handed the Test debut cap to Kevin Sinclair. The 24-year-old replaced Gudakesh Moti in the playing eleven of the West Indies cricket team, and started his Test career with a day-night Test match against Australia at the Gabba. Before his Test debut, Kevin Sinclair has played seven ODIs and six T20I matches for the West Indies.

He is known for his off-spin bowling, and can score runs quickly in the lower order. The West Indies team struggled with the bat in the second innings in the Adelaide Test against Australia and hence, Sinclair was included in the playing eleven to add depth to the batting line-up.

Let us tell you, Kevin Sinclair made his T20I and ODI debut for West Indies in the year 2021 and 2022 respectively, but he had to wait a while for his debut in Test cricket. He has taken 15 wickets in international cricket so far and has proved to be economical in ODI cricket. Earlier, Sinclair was included in the West Indies team during the second Test against India in 2023, but he did not get a chance to debut.

Once again West Indies had a bad start

Meanwhile, in the pink-ball Test against Australia, West Indies won the toss and elected to bat first. West Indies had a poor start in this day-night match, as captain Krieg Brathwaite once again failed to perform up to his potential. At present the score of West Indies is 64 runs at the loss of five wickets.
