In the second T20 match played at Adelaide Oval, Australia defeated West Indies by 34 runs. In this match, all the players from host Australia performed very well and played an important role in their team’s victory. Not only this, with this victory Australia took a 2-0 lead in the three-match T20 series.
However, a strange incident was seen during the match. Alzarri Joseph was run out in the 19th over of the West Indies innings but the on-field umpire declared him not out. Actually, Spencer Johnson of Australia had run out Alzarri Joseph in the non-striker’s end but no player from the host side appealed for it and due to this Joseph narrowly escaped and was declared not out.
When seen in the replay, it was clearly visible that Alzarri Joseph could not reach the non-striker’s end and Spencer Johnson had caught the ball and blown the wicket. However, the field umpire believed that no player from the Australian team appealed for runout and that is why Alzarri Joseph was given not out. Tim David was very disappointed by this because he believed that he had asked for a runout from the umpire.
Not only this, the rest of the players of the Australian team were also very disappointed with this decision of the field umpire. After this, Australian team captain Mitchell Marsh talked to the field umpire for a long time but nothing came out of it.
Australia beat West Indies by 34 runs

In reply, West Indies could score only 207 runs in 20 overs. On behalf of the team, Rovman Powell played a brilliant inning of 63 runs but he failed to lead his team to victory. For Australia, Marcus Stoinis took three wickets for 36 runs in four overs.
