Meanwhile, the Australian team has suffered a major setback. Fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has been ruled out of the T20 series against Scotland next month due to a calf injury. However, it is expected that he will be fit before the England tour.

Riley Meredith has been included in the team for the three-match T20 series against Scotland after Josh Hazlewood was ruled out. Meredith recently made headlines with his bowling for the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League.
Riley Meredith was part of Punjab Kings in IPL 2021, he played 5 matches for the franchise that season. Meredith has played one ODI and five T20 matches for Australia so far. In his T20 career, he has so far taken 8 wickets at an average of 23.50 and an economy of 9.98.

Spencer Johnson was injured while playing for Oval Invincibles in The Hundred 2024, after which he has been ruled out of the Scotland and England tour. Sean Abbott has been selected as a replacement for Spencer Johnson.
