England Test captain Ben Stokes has recently criticized the Australian media for misquoting his words in the recently released Ashes documentary. In this documentary, Ben Stokes was seen giving an encouraging message to his team after the fourth Test of Ashes 2023.

England could have levelled the series during the fourth Test. Australia were trailing by 61 runs in the second innings with five wickets in hand. However, the match was later abandoned due to rain. Before the fourth Test, England were trailing 2-1 in the series.

However, his comment was misinterpreted by the Australian media in which they were trying to say that the English captain was praising himself. Ben Stokes immediately gave a strong reply to this.

Ben Stokes tweeted, ‘This is what I said to the team that watched the rain for 2 days when we had our foot on your throat. I was just trying to encourage people but you give the rent for free and keep doing all this.’

England now has to play a three-match Test series against West Indies which starts on July 10. The first Test between these two teams will be played at Lord’s which will be the last international match of veteran fast bowler James Anderson’s career.
