LSG are at the bottom of the IPL points table, the reason being that they have played only one game and lost that too. They were to face Rajasthan Royals in their first game of IPL 2024, but they lost that match by 20 runs. On the other hand, Punjab Kings are at the fifth position with a win in 1 and loss in the other two matches they played.
Interestingly, Nicholas Pooran had come to the field as captain for the toss against Punjab Kings. Nicholas Pooran revealed that Rahul will play as an impact player and the decision to give him some rest has been taken due to his injury recovery process. Rahul suffered a quadriceps injury which kept him out of action for two months. He could not even play the Test series against England. KL Rahul does not want to take any risk regarding injury, hence this decision has been taken.
