Among the team owners or co-owners who attended this meeting were Shahrukh Khan from Kolkata Knight Riders, Kavya Maran from Sunrisers Hyderabad, Ness Wadia from Punjab Kings, Sanjeev Goenka from Lucknow Super Giants along with his son Shashwat.
Along with this, Parth Jindal of Delhi Capitals was also present. Manoj Badale and Ranjit Barthakur from Rajasthan Royals, Prathamesh Mishra from Royal Challengers Bangalore, Kashi Vishwanathan and Rupa Gurunath from Chennai Super Kings, Amit Soni from Gujarat Titans while the owner of Mumbai Indians participated in it online. In this meeting, the owner of Sunrisers Hyderabad has put forward some big demands before the upcoming season.
SRH owner Kavya Maran made this demand in the meeting of BCCI and Owners
According to a Cricbuzz report, SRH owner Kavya Maran has said, “It takes a lot of time to build a team and as discussed, grooming young players also takes a lot of time and investment. It took Abhishek Sharma 3 years to bring stability in his performance. You will agree that other teams have many such examples. She prefers mini auctions every year instead of mega auctions.
Kavya Maran further said, “After being bought in the auction, if a player does not play the entire season for any reason other than injury, he should be banned. The franchise puts a lot of effort in the auction, if a player goes for a low amount and he does not come. So it affects the team combination.”
Along with this, SRH owner has demanded to remove the restriction on the number of foreign players, because last time BCCI allowed to retain maximum 2 foreign players only, since every team is formed in different way which includes Indian players, foreign players and uncapped players.
