Mahmudul Hasan Joy and Zakir Hasan, who came to open for Bangladesh, added 47 runs for the first wicket. Mahmudul was out on 21 while Zakir Hasan was out after playing a half-century of 54 runs. He was the top scorer in the first innings for Bangladesh. Also, Taijul Islam contributed 22 runs and Mominul Haq contributed 33 runs. Apart from this, no other player could score more runs.
