South African young batsman Tristan Stubbs scored a brilliant century on the first day of the second test match against Bangladesh. In the match that started on Tuesday, October 29 at the Zahoor Ahmed Chaudhary Stadium, Stubbs showcased his skills and showed that he can show his batting prowess even in the longest format of the game.
Tristan Stubbs played an inning of 106 runs in 198 balls, which included six fours and three sixes. This is the first Test century of his career. Stubbs came to the crease after captain Aidan Markram was out on the score of 69 runs. Playing cautiously, he completed his half-century in 107 balls. Then after this he completed his Maiden Test century. He formed a formidable partnership with Tony De Jorzi.
Both made a partnership of 201 runs for the second wicket.
At the other end, Tony de Jorzi also completed his first Test century. This was the first time since 2019 that two South African batsmen scored centuries in the same innings of a Test match. Both of them made a huge partnership of 201 runs for the second wicket. Taijul Islam dismissed Stubbs in the 74th over and broke the partnership.
After his dismissal David Bedingham took over the innings with Jorji well set at the crease. Till stumps, the visiting team has scored 307 runs at the loss of 2 wickets. Jorji (141*) and Bedingham (18*) are currently at the crease.
