He was part of the BCCI’s ‘Emerging Players Camp’ in Anantapur and Bengaluru a few years ago.

“Ajit Agarkar (India’s chief selector) and his co-selectors have been impressed with Himanshu for some time now and have been monitoring his progress. He is tall (six feet four inches) and has an action similar to Ashwin,” the source said.
