According to the information, BCCI has asked Mumbai’s young off-spinner Himanshu Singh to join Team India’s camp in Chennai before the first Test against Bangladesh starting on September 19. Let us tell you that this camp will run from 13 to 18 September.
Along with this a source said, “All the players selected for the camp have been asked to reach Chennai on September 12. The players playing in the Duleep Trophy will leave for Chennai after the first match.”

On Saturday, September 7, 21-year-old Himanshu took 7/74 for Mumbai against Andhra at the Alur-1 Ground in the Dr. (Captain) K Thimpiah Memorial Tournament. The off-spinner is yet to play for the Mumbai senior team, though he has played for Mumbai Under-16 and Under-23. He was part of the BCCI’s ‘Emerging Players Camp’ in Anantapur and Bengaluru a few years ago.
“Ajit Agarkar (India’s chief selector) and his co-selectors have been impressed with Himanshu for some time now and have been monitoring his progress. He is tall (six feet four inches) and has an action similar to Ashwin,” the source said.
