Things have not been going well in Bangladesh for some time now. Due to student protests, Sheikh Hasina has left Bangladesh and come to India and an interim government has been formed. The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 is to be played in Bangladesh in the month of October this year. The International Cricket Council is very concerned about hosting this tournament. The ICC had appealed to the BCCI that this important tournament should be organized in India but the secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jay Shah, has rejected this appeal.

Jay Shah revealed about this thing that why BCCI does not want to host this important tournament. Not only this, ICC can now give the hosting of Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 to Sri Lanka and UAE.

According to The Hindu, Jai Shah said, ‘The ICC had asked us if we could host the World Cup? I have completely refused to do so. At that time it will be monsoon season in India and we also have to host the Women’s ODI World Cup next year. We do not want to give any signal that India will host two consecutive World Cups.’

Talking about the Bangladesh men’s team, they now have to play a two-match Test series against Pakistan which is starting from August 21 in Rawalpindi. The Bangladesh team has reached Pakistan and they have also started practicing for this important tournament. The Bangladesh Cricket Board had already taken important steps for the safety of the players.
