Team India’s captain and coach are under the scanner after suffering a clean sweep in the three-Test series against New Zealand at home. Rohit Sharma and Gautam Gambhir are constantly facing criticism. After this, Team India now has to play a five-match Test series against Australia under the Border Gavaskar Trophy.
Indian captain Rohit Sharma had clearly stated in the press conference held after losing the Test series against New Zealand that India will not play intra-squad matches or practice matches before the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. BCCI had already informed that the Indian team will not play intra-squad matches before the Perth Test, but will instead focus on additional practice sessions.
Team India will play intra squad match in Australia
However, now reports are coming out that the Indian team is going to play intra squad match. Even this match is going to last for three days, which will start from Friday and will continue till Sunday. However, no one will be able to watch this match, because BCCI has decided not to allow entry to anyone in the stadium.
Indian players have reached Australia and according to the report of The West Australian, the three-day intra squad match will be played at the WACA in Perth. No one will be able to watch Team India’s practice sessions and intra-squad matches. Even stadium employees are not allowed to use phones and make videos outside the office.
Team India has also started practice for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. On the first day, Virat Kohli along with R Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah did not participate in the practice session, while KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rishabh Pant were seen in the optional session.
