Despite an average performance in his T20 debut on the Zimbabwe tour, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has shown faith in young all-rounder Riyan Parag. Parag scored just 24 runs in the three matches played on this tour, but despite this, he has got a place in Team India not only for the T20 but also for the ODI series against Sri Lanka.

It is worth noting that Tilak Verma is currently suffering from injury, due to this also Parag has a chance. But if a source close to BCCI is to be believed, then in the coming time Parag can be seen playing continuously for Team India, because BCCI is planning to prepare Parag for the future.

Now he wants to stay on the wicket and play. He can bowl well, and is a brilliant fielder, to increase his importance in the team. The selectors want to prepare him for the future.

The source further said about Harshit Rana’s selection in the team- He can bowl yorkers and slow balls. He can trouble batsmen with his variations in the death overs. This is what makes him a good option in white ball cricket.

Well, now it will be interesting to see how Riyan Parag will perform in the series against Sri Lanka. If he performs well in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, then he can be seen playing in Team India for a long time.
