Rituraj Gaikwad made a great comeback

After getting out for 7 runs in the first match, Gaikwad proved his form in the second match by playing a brilliant unbeaten innings of 77 runs. Indian batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad has said that after captaining IPL franchise CSK, he has now become more involved in the game. Notably, Gaikwad was appointed the captain of CSK ahead of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) after Dhoni resigned from the captaincy.

The 27-year-old had a good start to his captaincy tenure as Chennai began the tournament with four wins out of the first six matches. However, the team failed to maintain the momentum and missed out on a playoff berth after losing their last match against RCB.

Despite failing to take his team to the playoffs in his first stint as captain, Gaikwad has learned a lot as he now wants to bat with responsibility and finish the game on his own. He feels he is now more involved in the game than before. Let’s find out what he said-

“Nothing much has changed really, batting has remained the same. It is all about playing with responsibility and finishing it on your own, so nothing has changed. It just depends on how you approach the game each time. You have captained an IPL franchise for a long time, so now you are more involved in the game. So, you stay in the game for a longer period of time rather than just hitting boundaries and focusing on one ball.”
