Australia has not defeated India in any Test series for more than a decade. So, when the Australian players will play the first match of the BGT series starting from 22nd November at the Perth Stadium, their aim will be only to win against India.

In the team that Cricket Australia has selected for this BGT series, Mitchell Starc, Steve Smith, Nathan Lyon and Josh Hazlewood are the players who were last involved in Australia’s Test series win against India. Meanwhile, senior players in the team, Pat Cummins, Usman Khawaja and Marnus Labuschagne are yet to taste victory against India.

However, in recent times the Australian cricket team has achieved a lot of success in world cricket. The Kangaroo team has won big tournaments like T20 World Cup 2021, World Test Championship and Cricket World Cup 2023.

But it has not been able to win the Test series against India yet. India has been successful in winning the last three Border-Gavaskar Trophy Test series, Team India has defeated Australia twice in this series in Australia.

Pat Cummins gave a big statement

Let us tell you that before the start of the BGT series at home against India, Pat Cummins was quoted by Western Australian as saying – This (Test series win against India) is one of the last things for many of us.

In the last few years, we have moved forward and performed well in almost every challenge that came before us. Doing this for another year, another home summer, will kind of cement it. Instead of just being a two or three season thing, it’s suddenly become a half-decade thing.

Cummins further said – This has been the situation for the last two or three years. The coming week is very normal. It’s all very comfortable, everyone knows how to prepare them. One of the strengths of our team is not only consistency, but how well everyone gets along and how much we love playing together.
