The first test match will be played in Perth from 22 November.
The Indian team is currently on Australia tour for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, where the first match of the five-match Test series will be played in Perth from November 22. Captain Rohit Sharma has not yet left for Australia with Team India. He will leave for the series only after the birth of his second child. Currently, Rohit Sharma has been seen practicing with the bat in Mumbai.
It is likely that he will take a decision about touring Australia only after the birth of his second child. However, Rohit has been taking advantage of the facilities of Mumbai Cricket Association and Reliance Corporate Park for the last few days.
Rohit is practicing in Mumbai
There is no clarity yet on his departure, a source familiar with the matter was quoted as saying by Times of India. It all depends on how things go individually. He’s doing what a father would do in this situation. But at the same time he is making sure to prepare well for the Test series and is giving every possible batting effort in Mumbai.
Let us tell you that the Indian team reached Australia in two contingents. On November 10, assistant coaches, Abhishek Nair, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar and Akash Deep left. On the other hand, except Virat Kohli and Jasprit Bumrah, the rest of the cricketers left with head coach Gautam Gambhir the next day i.e. on 11th November.
Kohli had reached Perth last Sunday, while Jasprit Bumrah left independently on Monday night.
