After the final of T20 World Cup 2024, Jasprit Bumrah made a comeback in Team India in the series played against Bangladesh. He took 11 wickets in two Tests at an average of 12.82. If Rohit Sharma remains unavailable against Australia then Jasprit Bumrah can be seen captaining the Indian team.

Before the Bengaluru Test, Rohit Sharma said about Jasprit Bumrah, ‘The brilliant fast bowler has played a lot of cricket and I have played a lot of cricket with him. He understands the game very well. He’s got a pretty good head on his shoulders. If we look closely, he has not captained much. Jasprit Bumrah has captained only one Test and a few T20 matches but when he is talked to about the game, he understands it all.

They know what is needed most. When you are in a situation and you want your captain to come forward, I think Bumrah is one of them.
