Sri Lanka Cricket has included some new staff in the team to strengthen its coaching staff. Former India fast bowling coach Bharat Arun and former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes have been added to Sri Lanka’s coaching setup. Meanwhile, former Sri Lankan physiotherapist Alex Konturi has got a place in the team’s coaching staff.

Following discussions held during Sri Lanka Cricket’s meeting on 16 January, the board has further strengthened its coaching staff. This meeting was held under the chairmanship of President Shammi Silva. Not only this, Sri Lanka Cricket has taken many other important decisions. Changes can be seen not only in the coaching staff but also in the team.

Sri Lanka Cricket said in its release, ‘With the help of local coaches, trainers and physiotherapists, we are trying to give place to many very talented players in the senior team. There are many players in Sri Lanka who have performed very well in domestic cricket.

Changes will also be seen in the coaching staff of the senior team. For this, the executive committee has also decided to appoint specialist fielding coach, former South African cricketer Jonty Rhodes, former fast bowling coach of the Indian national team, Bharat Arun and former physiotherapist of the Sri Lanka national team, Alex Konturi.

Sri Lanka would like to win the T20 series against Zimbabwe
