on Saturday, March 23 IPL Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) faced each other in the third match of 2024. During this match, Bhojpuri commentators used objectionable language, due to which the fans got enraged. A video clip of this is going viral on social media and people are giving strong reactions to it.

Let us tell you that an exciting match was seen in the double header on Saturday. Batting first, KKR scored a huge score of 208 runs at the loss of 7 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Heinrich Klaasen’s explosive innings almost gave SRH victory, but when the team needed 5 runs, he was out and SRH lost the match by 4 runs.

However, during the match, Heinrich Klaasen hit a tremendous six on the third ball of the 19th over of the second innings. Bhojpuri commentators used some objectionable words on this. After the video went viral, cricket lovers gave their strong reactions to it.

Fans demanded dismissal of commentators

One fan even tagged popular Bhojpuri actors Ravi Kishan and Manoj Tiwari as well as BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and demanded the sacking of those commentators. Another fan commented and wrote that people watch IPL with family at the dinner table and Bhojpuri commentary is becoming popular for wrong reasons with the use of ‘double meaning lines’.

Talking about the match, Klaasen played an explosive inning of 63 runs in 29 balls, but could not lead the team to victory. In the end KKR won by four runs. Harshit Rana successfully defended 13 runs in the last over. Andre Russell was named player of the match for his all-round performance. He scored unbeaten 64 runs on 25 balls and also took 2 wickets.

On the other hand, statements are being made continuously by former cricketers before the start of this much-awaited series. In this sequence, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting had expressed concern about former captain and Virat Kohli, who is out of form in Test cricket these days. On this statement of Ponting, the current head coach of the Indian team and former opener Gautam Gambhir had said that he should stop worrying about Kohli’s form and focus on the Australian team. On the other hand, Gambhir has now got the support of former Indian captain and Sourav Ganguly, popularly known as Dada, on this statement. Ganguly says that there is nothing wrong in whatever Gambhir said. Sourav Ganguly defended Gautam Gambhir’s statement Let us tell you that in a recent discussion with Revzsports, Ganguly said – I would just say that let him be. I saw some criticism on what he said in the press conference. He (Gambhir) is like that, let him remain like that. When he won the IPL, it was just like that, you were rooting for him. Just because he has lost three Test matches and one ODI series, the straight thing has not been viewed well. But that’s just the way it is. Ganguly further said- Ever since I have watched cricket, Australians have been difficult for you. He has played his cricket like this, be it (Steve) Waugh, Ponting or (Matthew) Hayden. Therefore, there is nothing wrong in what Gambhir has said. That’s just the way he is, and he fights, he competes. So let’s give him a chance. He has been in coaching only for two-three months and you are passing judgment on him.
