Hardik Pandya: BCCI has announced the Annual Central Contract Players for Team India (Senior Men’s) for the 2023-24 season (October 1, 2023 to September 30, 2024). 30 players have got place in the central contract. There are 4 players in Grade A+, 6 in Grade A-, 5 in Grade B, and 15 in Grade-C. BCCI has clearly instructed the players that when the players are not on national duty, they will have to give priority to domestic cricket.

Many names are missing from the BCCI contract list, which also includes the names of players like Shreyas Iyer and Ishan Kishan. Meanwhile, big news is coming out that BCCI was not going to give place to Hardik Pandya in the central contract.

According to the news of Indian Express, Hardik Pandya was also not going to get a place in the central contract. BCCI was not able to decide whether to give contract to Hardik Pandya or not, or even if given to him, he should be kept in Grade-A or not. After which BCCI has taken undertaking from Hardik Pandya.

In which Hardik has said that if he is not on national duty during the upcoming domestic season, then he will play Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Vijay Hazare Trophy in white ball cricket for Baroda.

BCCI official while talking to Indian Express said, ‘We have discussed with Hardik Pandya, who has been asked to play domestic white ball tournaments if available. According to the BCCI medical team, he is not in a position to bowl in red ball cricket. Therefore it is difficult for Pandya to play Ranji Trophy. But if Team India has no commitment then they will have to play other white ball tournaments. If not, he will miss out on the contract.

Hardik was injured during World Cup 2023

Hardik Pandya played his last Test match for India on 30 August 2018 against England. Hardik Pandya is suffering from back injury, which is being said to be the reason for him not playing Test cricket. Hardik Pandya was injured during the World Cup 2023, after which he has not played a single match for India till now. Hardik Pandya was recently seen playing in the DY Patil tournament.
