Rashid Latif says Team India will come to Pakistan for Champions Trophy 2025, BCCI secretary Jay Shah has been elected unopposed as ICC president. He will take over as ICC president from December 1. Instead of regretting this news, some former Pakistani cricketers have raised PCB’s hopes regarding the Champions Trophy.
In this regard, a former Pakistani cricketer has assured that now no one can stop India from coming to Pakistan. Pakistan is very excited to host an ICC tournament on home soil for the first time in almost three decades. But no one still has an answer to the question whether the Indian team will go to Pakistan or not.
Jai Shah as ICC President raises Pakistan’s hopes:
Rumors are flying that BCCI does not want to send Team India to Pakistan. According to media reports, India wants to play its matches at a neutral venue. Amidst all this, Secretary Jay Shah was elected unopposed as the new President of the ICC.
After this, many fans have predicted that the Indian team will not tour Pakistan under any circumstances. But on the other hand, Pakistan’s hopes have doubled with this news. The reason for this has been explained in detail by Pakistan’s former captain Rashid Latif.
What did Rashid Latif say?
Rashid Latif, while talking on the YouTube channel ‘Caught Behind’, said, “If Jay Shah is elected unopposed, it means that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has supported him. I think it is unlikely that he will sign the declaration of India not going to Pakistan. I think we have got 50 percent confirmation that the Indian team is coming to Pakistan. Jay Shah’s work has been beneficial for cricket so far, be it for BCCI or ICC.”
