Shardul Thakur will be seen playing in the upcoming Irani Cup Trophy.
There is some good news for Team India just ahead of the upcoming busy Test season and for Mumbai ahead of the upcoming Irani Cup match in Lucknow. It is being told that fast bowler all-rounder Shardul Thakur is back on the field. Thakur is currently playing his first competitive match after four months of ankle injury. Let us tell you that he underwent surgery in London on June 12.
India’s Test season is about to start and the team has to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh from September 19. After this series, Team India has to host New Zealand for a three-match Test series and then play the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. In such a situation, Shardul being fit before the Australia series is a good news for Team India.
Earlier, Shardul Thakur last participated in IPL 2024 as the main tournament and after that he got injured. Later, he also had to undergo surgery, due to which he could not play the Duleep Trophy. However, now Shardul has completed his post-surgery recovery and is ready to show his flair on the field once again.
Shardul’s performance in the match against KSCA Secretary 11 was disappointing
He recently played for Mumbai against KSCA Secretary 11 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. However, his performance there was not very special. Shardul faced two balls in batting in this match and then got out without scoring any runs, while on Sunday he gave 29 runs in eight overs and did not get any wicket during this time.
The Irani Cup 2024, which has shifted from Mumbai to Lucknow, will be held at the Ekana Stadium from October 1 to 5. It will feature Mumbai, who won the recent season of the Ranji Trophy, and Rest of India. Shardul Thakur is also expected to be seen in this match, who can be a part of the Mumbai team.
