Gautam Gambhir will soon be appointed as the next head coach of Team India. He will replace Rahul Dravid in the Indian team and will join the team later this month before the series against Sri Lanka. According to reports, the left-handed batsman has already shot a video saying goodbye to the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) fans at Eden Gardens and BCCI will soon appoint him.
Interestingly, KKR has approached Dravid to replace Gambhir as mentor for IPL 2025. After his tenure as India’s head coach ended, Dravid is not currently associated with any team, so KKR wanted to include Dravid in their team.
KKR has contacted Gautam Gambhir for IPL 2025
According to the news of News18 Bangla, Rahul Dravid has been contacted by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team and they want Dravid to join the team as a mentor in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025. But the former Indian coach has not yet responded to this. During Dravid’s tenure, Team India won the T20 World Cup 2024, won the Asia Cup, reached the final of the World Cup 2023 and the World Test Championship.
Gambhir was the mentor of KKR in 2024 and KKR won the title. After this, BCCI was constantly talking to Gambhir about the post of head coach. Recently Gambhir has returned from Kolkata. It is being said that he has had a farewell in Kolkata and soon BCCI can seal his name as the head coach.
After winning the T20 World Cup 2024 title, the Indian team is currently playing a five-match T20 International series on the Zimbabwe tour and after this, Team India has to go on a Sri Lanka tour next month. VVS Laxman has gone on the Zimbabwe tour as the head coach and there are reports that Gautam Gambhir will take over his post before the tour against Sri Lanka.
