The National Cricket Academy (NCA) will soon have to start looking for its new chief, as the current NCA chief VVS Laxman is no longer interested in remaining in this position. It is worth noting that Laxman’s tenure is ending at the end of this year.

Also, let us tell you that before this Laxman had not even applied for the post of new head coach of the Indian cricket team. The tenure of the current head coach Rahul Dravid is ending after the ongoing T20 World Cup 2024. After Dravid, Team India needs a new coach, but Laxman has not shown any interest in this role either.

According to some media reports of The Telegraph, after being appointed as the NCA chief in the year 2021, Laxman now wants to prioritise his family commitments after a busy tenure. Also, the reports also state that Laxman will also be seen in the role of commentator for some time before completely separating from the game.

Also, let us tell you that right after the T20 World Cup, Laxman can be seen in the role of interim coach on the Zimbabwe tour with the Indian team. So on this tour of the Indian team, for the first time, the command of Team India can be handed over to young batsman Shubman Gill.
