Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik is in trouble. In fact, his contract with Fortune Barishal in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has reportedly expired. This decision has been taken after Malik’s controversial performance in the recent BPL 2024 match against Khulna Tigers.

Malik’s poor performance has raised concerns for his team, while fans have raised questions about his commitment to the game. He bowled three no-balls in a single over, giving away 18 runs, and batting in the death overs, he scored five runs in six balls. After this, he was being criticized a lot on social media.

On Thursday, news came that Shoaib Malik will not participate further in the current season of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).

His franchisee Fortune Barishal has confirmed this. In an official statement, Fortune Barishal confirmed that Malik will miss the remaining BPL matches after flying to Dubai due to personal reasons.

Malik has showcased his cricketing talent across all formats throughout his career. He has played 35 matches in Test, in which he has scored a total of 1519 runs. His impact in ODIs is fantastic, he has played 287 matches and scored 6192 runs. Malik has also made significant contributions in T20Is, scoring a total of 675 runs in 124 matches. In first-class cricket (FC), he has played 126 matches, scoring a total of 7439 runs.
