Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik is in trouble. In fact, his contract with Fortune Barishal in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has reportedly expired. This decision has been taken after Malik’s controversial performance in the recent BPL 2024 match against Khulna Tigers.

Malik’s poor performance has raised concerns for his team, while fans have raised questions about his commitment to the game. His franchisee Fortune Barishal has confirmed this. In an official statement, Fortune Barishal confirmed that Malik will miss the remaining BPL matches after flying to Dubai due to personal reasons.

Malik has showcased his cricketing talent across all formats throughout his career. He has played 35 matches in Test, in which he has scored a total of 1519 runs. His impact in ODIs is fantastic, he has played 287 matches and scored 6192 runs. Malik has also made significant contributions in T20Is, scoring a total of 675 runs in 124 matches. In first-class cricket (FC), he has played 126 matches, scoring a total of 7439 runs.

Bumrah took 8 wickets in both the innings of that Test match and for this he was chosen Player of the Match. In the match, India achieved a spectacular victory within four days and took a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. After seeing the brilliant bowling in that match, former England cricket team fast bowler Steven Finn has praised Jasprit Bumrah’s performance in the first Test match against Australia. Finn praised him a lot and even said that he is the best player in the world. Speaking with former England captain Alastair Cook on TNT Sports, Steven Finn said, “Jaiswal scored a brilliant 161, but he is the player I like to watch. That is Jasprit Bumrah. I think he really is the best player in the world. Honestly, sometimes I think bowling like him is a joke! You see him bowling and you just think, I’m glad I don’t have to come out to bat.” He further said, “I was surprised that India went there (Australia) and defeated Australia, where usually it is very difficult to go and play cricket. Perth, I know it’s not the WACA; I know it’s a new stadium, but still, historically, Australia hasn’t lost many matches there. I thought India performed very bravely there.” Let us tell you that, Bumrah now has 118 wickets in 27 Test matches in SENA countries at an impressive average of 22.55, which also includes his career best performance (6/33). During this period, he has taken five wicket hauls 7 times, which is equal to Kapil Dev. They are followed by BS Chandrashekhar and Zaheer Khan (six each), and Bishan Singh Bedi and Anil Kumble (five each).
