Cricket Australia (CA) has postponed the three-match T20 series against Afghanistan to be held in August this year. Let us tell you, a three-match T20 series between these two teams was played in the month of August but now it has been postponed.

Cricket Australia, following negotiations with the Australian Government, had previously set the ODI series against Afghanistan to be held in March 2023 following significant deterioration in the human rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.

Over the past 12 months, Cricket Australia has engaged with the Australian Government on the situation in Afghanistan. The government advises that the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan is very bad at present and for this reason it will postpone the T20 series to be held in August.

Cricket Australia believes that women should always be respected and is in full support of them. Not only this, the Board will work closely with the Afghanistan Cricket Board to determine what action can be taken for the resumption of bilateral matches in the future.
