Team India has to play a two-match Test series against Bangladesh at home from 19 September next month. Bangladesh has not won a single Test match against India so far, but the team cannot be taken lightly. Recently, under the captaincy of Nazmul Hussain Shanto, Bangladesh registered its first Test win against Pakistan.

Before the Test series against Bangladesh, most of the Indian players are going to play in the upcoming season of the Duleep Trophy. Former veteran player Suresh Raina is very happy with this decision of the BCCI, and he says that the series against Bangladesh will be a good rehearsal for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy to be held later this year.

Suresh Raina while talking to Hindustan Times said,

Now the team will be formed for the Test. It is a good initiative of BCCI to have top players playing in Duleep Trophy. When you play cricket with red ball, you get to know many things. You cannot take Bangladesh lightly as they have a great spin bowling attack and some good players who have performed well for a long time. This series will be a great practice match for the Australia tour.

We can’t even beat Bangladesh: Harbhajan Singh

Veteran former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh stressed that since Bangladesh won the Rawalpindi Test against Pakistan by 10 wickets, Team India should not take them lightly.

It will be a great series. The Indian cricket team is very capable and has potential. However, we cannot beat Bangladesh either, they have beaten Pakistan in the first Test of the series at home. Sometimes smaller teams also perform well in matches.

The first match of the two-match Test series between India and Bangladesh will be played from September 19 at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. Whereas, the second Test will be played from September 27 at Green Park, Kanpur.
