Chennai Super Kings donates Rs 5 crore to AIADMK through electoral bonds

Five-time IPL champion Chennai Super Kings (CSK)-owned India Cements Limited has donated Rs 5 crore to Tamil Nadu’s political party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhakam (AIADMK) through electoral bonds.

This information has come to light after the list of electoral bonds released by the Election Commission on March 17. It is noteworthy that currently MK Stalin is the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu from this party and his party has received a donation of Rs 6.05 crore in the form of electoral bonds from CSK between April 2 and April 4, 2019.

If the reports of Times of India are to be believed regarding this, then CSK bought electoral bonds worth Rs 1 crore each three times. Along with this, he bought 29 more bonds of Rs 10 lakh each. However, buying electoral bonds has not made any difference to the Chennai Super Kings franchise and they had started practicing at the MA Chidambaram Stadium long ago.

CSK eyes sixth IPL trophy

It is noteworthy that five-time champion Chennai Super Kings will start IPL 2024 with the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on March 22. So this time the team will have its eyes on winning the IPL trophy for the sixth time.

However, before the start of the tournament, a bad news has emerged for CSK. Let us tell you that the team’s regular opener Devon Conway is out of the entire tournament due to injury. After this, it is expected that young all-rounder Rachin Ravindra can be seen opening along with Ruturaj Gaikwad.

It is noteworthy that Rachin was included in the IPL 2024 mini auction by Chennai in their team by paying Rs 1.8 crore. Rachin is being considered as the replacement for Ravindra Jadeja in the team.

Gavaskar further said, ‘I felt that there are very long boundaries on these Australian wickets, so in such a situation you can include both of them in the playing XI. But this is a new management and new thinking. He has gone with Nitish Kumar Reddy, who is a promising player. There is no fault of his in this, but my only question is, is he completely prepared for Test cricket? Former legend, ‘He has not played many first class matches and so clearly, I think, this selection of Nitish is based on expectations and nothing less than that. Like all Indian cricket followers, I hope it is successful. The Indian team won the toss and batted first and the entire team was all out after scoring 150 runs.
