While Kuldeep performed brilliantly with the ball and took three wickets, McGurk scored a half-century in his debut match.

McGurk, who came to bat at number three, scored 55 runs in 35 balls. He hit two fours and five sixes. Fraser McGurk speaks from his heart about playing IPL in India

After playing a memorable inning in his IPL debut, 22-year-old McGurk opened up to the media. He praised India after the match. He said that he has never experienced such a wonderful atmosphere as the IPL in India. He said after the match, “I have spent the last five-six sitting out and was eager to get on the field. I am very happy to win the first game. I just saw the ball and played it accordingly, that’s what I’ve been doing for the last 12 months and why change it?”

When McGurk was asked which was his favorite shot, the Kangaroo batsman said, “I liked the shot over cover very much. I don’t usually hit that many shots on the off side. I think it’s something I’ll continue to learn. Focusing on my strike rate as well as rotating the strike. I believe this is a skill that will come with experience and playing more matches will definitely help.”

In the end he praised India and said, “I am thrilled to be here (playing IPL in India). It’s like stepping into a different world. I have never seen anything like this before. The first-hand experience has been fantastic. Great times are going in India.”
