CPL 2024: Heavy-bodied Azam Khan’s brilliant diving catch became the highlight of the match, watch video


The match was played on September 7 at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St Lucia between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Lucia Kings.

Pakistan’s Azam Khan took a brilliant catch to dismiss Johnson Charles in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2024 on Saturday, September 7, which left everyone stunned. The match was played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.

The incident happened during the sixth over of St Lucia’s innings. Keemo Paul bowled a full-length delivery outside the off side and Charles tried to drive it to the off side. However, the ball was away from the batsman’s body and took a slight edge of the bat and went behind.

Azam completed this ball coming in the air by diving to his right. This catch by the heavy-bodied Azam Khan was very surprising. Talking about Azam Khan, he failed to perform well with the bat in this match and was out on zero.

CPL 2024: Guyana Amazon Warriors beat St Lucia Kings by 6 wickets

A clinical all-round performance helped Guyana Amazon Warriors beat St Lucia Kings by six wickets in CPL 2024. Batting first, St Lucia Kings were bundled out for 100 in 14.3 overs. Matthew Ford scored 31 runs off 21 balls with the help of two sixes and three fours.

Johnson Charles, Akeem Auguste and Tim Seifert were the other batsmen to score in double figures. Imran Tahir and Gudakesh Motie were the top wicket-takers for Guyana with three wickets each while Keemo Paul got two wickets.

In reply, Guyana achieved the target with 10 overs remaining. Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 47 runs off 19 balls, which included seven sixes. At the same time, Tim Robinson scored 33 runs off 20 balls, which included two sixes and three fours. Noor Ahmed performed well in bowling and took three wickets for 22 runs, while Alzari Joseph got one wicket.

With this win, Guyana moved to the top of the points table with three wins from three matches. Meanwhile, St Lucia slipped to third place with their first loss this season.

He played a brilliant inning of 36 runs in 18 balls with the help of 2 fours and 4 sixes. He had earlier played a half-century in the third T20. India recorded the second highest total- In the fourth T20 match, the Indian team won the toss and batted first and scored 283 runs on the board at the loss of one wicket. This is India’s second highest total in T20 International. Sanju Samson played an unbeaten inning of 109 runs in 56 balls with the help of 6 fours and 9 sixes. At the same time, Tilak Verma played an unbeaten inning of 120 runs in 47 balls with the help of 9 fours and 10 sixes. There was a record partnership of 210* runs for the second wicket between the two batsmen. Only Lutho Sipamla was the successful bowler for South Africa, he took one wicket for 58 runs in 4 overs.
