The match was played between Guyana Amazon Warriors and Saint Lucia Kings at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia.
The incident happened during the sixth over of St Lucia’s innings. Keemo Paul bowled a full-length delivery outside the off side and Charles tried to drive it to the off side. However, the ball was away from the batsman’s body and took a slight edge of the bat and went behind.

CPL 2024: Guyana Amazon Warriors beat St Lucia Kings by 6 wickets
A clinical all-round performance helped Guyana Amazon Warriors beat St Lucia Kings by six wickets in CPL 2024. Batting first, St Lucia Kings were bundled out for 100 in 14.3 overs. Matthew Ford scored 31 runs off 21 balls with the help of two sixes and three fours.
Johnson Charles, Akeem Auguste and Tim Seifert were the other batsmen to score in double figures. Imran Tahir and Gudakesh Motie were the top wicket-takers for Guyana with three wickets each while Keemo Paul got two wickets.
In reply, Guyana achieved the target with 10 overs remaining. Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 47 runs off 19 balls, which included seven sixes. At the same time, Tim Robinson scored 33 runs off 20 balls, which included two sixes and three fours. Noor Ahmed performed well in bowling and took three wickets for 22 runs, while Alzari Joseph got one wicket.
With this win, Guyana moved to the top of the points table with three wins from three matches. Meanwhile, St Lucia slipped to third place with their first loss this season.
