Joe Root batted brilliantly and completed his 31st test century.
The fourth Test match is being played between India and England in Ranchi, where Joe Root’s bat has spoken strongly for the English team on the first day. Let us tell you that he was seen in bad form in this series and could not score a single half-century in 6 innings. But today he played his 31st test.
Earlier, Akash Deep, who was making his Test debut for the Indian team, wreaked havoc on the England batsmen and showed the path to the pavilion to three England batsmen. Indian fans and veteran cricketers were elated at his performance.
Apart from this, after seeing the Ranchi pitch, Michael Vaughan tweeted, “There is an old saying, do not evaluate a pitch until both the teams have batted and bowled on it, but honestly speaking, It looks shocking.”
The second season of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) is starting from today. There will be an opening ceremony before the match, in which famous Bollywood actors will be seen performing. Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah expressed his gratitude to everyone through social media for starting the league and contributing to women’s cricket.
This is more like the Joe Root we know. Can’t keep such a class player quiet for long.
PS: Two ‘scoops’ of ice cream for Joe at stumps please 😉 Well played @root66 #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/yLiQQcqHoF— Wasim Jaffer (@WasimJaffer14) February 23, 2024
