India won the 5-match Test series 4-1 by defeating England by an innings and 64 runs in the fifth and final Test match played in Dharamsala. In this last test match, Indian players performed brilliantly and played an important role in the team’s victory.

After the Dharamshala Test, Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jai Shah made a big announcement. He announced an incentive scheme, under which players playing Test cricket will now get money in addition to the match fees. People believe that BCCI has taken this decision to promote Test cricket.

Apart from this, during the Dharamsala Test, England’s great fast bowler James Anderson took his 700th wicket in Test cricket. With this, Anderson has become the first fast bowler in the world to touch the figure of 700 wickets in Test cricket.

Whereas, experienced spinner Ravichandran Ashwin broke the back of the English team by taking five wickets in the second innings. With taking five wickets, Ashwin made another record in his name. He has become the bowler with the highest number of five-wicket hauls in Test cricket for India, leaving behind the legendary Anil Kumble.
