Deepak Chahar said that he has worked hard for the 2024 IPL and T-20 World Cup.
Indian fast bowler Deepak Chahar (Deepak Chahar) is ready to return to the field and his eyes are on the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to be jointly hosted by America and West Indies in June this year.
Actually, Deepak Chahar had to miss India’s tour of South Africa in December last year and then the home T20I match against Afghanistan due to his father suffering a brain stroke. However, the Indian fast bowler’s father has now recovered.
For me, my father comes first: Deepak Chahar
Since India will not play any T20I match till the T20 World Cup 2024 in June, Deepak Chahar’s only chance to make a place in the team is the upcoming IPL 2024. The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) star has also revealed the reason behind not participating in India’s recent series.
Deepak Chahar was quoted by PTI: “For me, my father comes first. I am here only because of them. Whatever I have achieved is because of my father. If I am not with them in those circumstances, then what kind of son am I? If the series was in India, I would definitely try to play, because if needed, you can come to the hospital within 4-5 hours. But it takes 2-3 days to come back to India from South Africa. So it was a wise decision to leave the South Africa tour and stay with my father. Any son would do this.”
“I was in the hospital with my father for 25 days”
The Indian fast bowler further said: “I was in the hospital with my father for 25 days. He was admitted to Aligarh. We all had to stay there, I was only able to do some exercises. I was not able to do any cricket activity. That’s why I was not ready for the Afghanistan series. I didn’t practice for about a month. After this I went to NCA. I started my practice again and now I am completely fit.
Now everything is good. I worked really hard for the 2024 IPL and T20 World Cup. I could not play two T20 World Cups due to my injuries. If I had been completely fit, I would have been a part of the World Cup team. India always needs a bowler who can bat at No. 7, 8, 9. I have done this and scored runs for the Indian team. So let’s see what happens!”
