Dhruv Jurel is representing India A team in Duleep Trophy 2024. He has equaled MS Dhoni’s record for most catches by a wicketkeeper in an innings in his very first match of the tournament.

Both India A and India B teams are playing against each other at M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Dhruv Jurel has taken 7 catches in the second innings of this match. During this record-breaking performance, Dhruv Jurel dismissed Mushir Khan, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Sarfaraz Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Sai Kishore and Navdeep Saini.

Earlier in 2004-05, MS Dhoni also achieved this feat while playing for East Zone in a match against West Zone. Dhoni also took 7 catches. With this, Dhruv Jurel has jointly reached the top position.

Before MS Dhoni, this record was in the name of Sunil Benjamin. While playing for Central Zone in the 1973-74 Duleep Trophy season, he took 6 catches and made 1 stumping in a single innings. Apart from this, S Vishwanath had achieved the feat of taking 6 catches in a single innings while playing for South Zone in 1980-81.
